Recently The Offshore Group sat down with Chas Spence, director for Latin American Manufacturing Practice at AlixPartners. The ensuing conversation centered around Mexico's pre-eminence as a site selection choice for manufacturers that are looking to achieve maximum competitiveness in their servicing of the North American market.
According to Spence, “This survey showed us that The United States ranked right behind Mexico as the primary spot for nearshoring operations. What we discovered is that, if a company had an operation in China, Vietnam, India or Europe, they noted Mexico as their first choice, and then listed the U.S. as their second option.”
