Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Management
Mexico’s equivalent to the United States’ EPA and OSHA are the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and the Department of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS). These federal agencies of the Mexican government enforce laws, provide guidelines, and conduct audits.
Clients that operate in our Manufacturing Communities are supported by a team of experts who continually monitor changes in the law and take action to ensure client operations adjust accordingly. Our team works as the liaison between the client’s manufacturing operation in Mexico and the government on issues related to environmental impact and the health and safety of employees in the workplace.
A major role of our EH&S department is to ensure clients implement and follow best practices at their operation sites. Our relationship with client companies is to explain and clarify governmental expectations, share audit experiences related to outcomes and corrective actions, and to periodically measure the results of implemented strategies.
In addition, when regulatory audits take place at client sites, our team of experts takes full control of the process and collaborates with authorities by providing information and implementing improvement suggestions.
