Electronic Evolution Technologies, Inc. to Establish Facility in Mexico

Electronic Evolution Technologies, Inc. (EET), of Reno , Nevada , has signed an agreement for the provision of outsourced manufacturing support, or “shelter” services in Mexico by The Offshore Group.  EET will occupy 17,000 square feet at the Group’s Bellavista Industrial Park , and will eventually employ between 50-100 direct labor workers.  The company manufactures circuit board assemblies for the medical, RF/wireless, gaming, industrial and digital audio/visual markets.

According to company President, Sonny Newman, “our decision to establish an operation in Mexico was predicated on a desire to offer our customers a low cost labor solution.  We have great faith in the productivity of the workforce located at The Offshore Group’s interior location at Empalme , Sonora .”

The Tucson, Arizona- based Offshore Group is the largest provider of outsourced manufacturing services to companies in the aerospace, medical device, automotive, electronics and optics industries in Mexico. 


Novacap to Operate Mexican Facility


Valencia California-based Novacap has entered into a 5 year agreement for the provision of outsourced manufacturing support services (MSS) in Mexico with The Offshore Group of Tucson , Arizona .  Under the terms of the agreement, the company will establish a 32,000 sq. ft. facility at the Roca Fuerte industrial park in Guaymas , Sonora .

At the project’s maturity Novacap will employ approximately 200 workers in the manufacture of difficult to produce Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLC) products to the medical, aerospace, military, telecommunications and oil exploration markets.

 

According to company President, Mark Skoog, “after having investigated several alternatives we decided to procure the services of The Offshore Group.  This is due to the professionalism demonstrated by their staff during the site selection process, as well as to the world-class quality of their industrial parks.  We look forward to the initiation of a mutually beneficial partnership with them".

11th Annual Manufacturing in Mexico Program Now Available

International Logistic Solutions (ILS) Establishes Presence in Hermosillo

International Logistic Solutions, an Offshore Group company has recently commenced operations in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico

ILS is a Third Party Logistics company (3PL) that currently provides services to major manufacturers in the maquiladora industry.  The company’s offerings currently include: international freight forwarding and consolidation, 3rd party warehousing,  and vendor management inventory (VMI) through its "Service Maquiladora" permit and distribution.

La Angostura Industrial Park Expands


With the recent acquisition of an additional 60 contiguous acres, the Offshore Group’s La Angostura industrial park will more than double in size to 100 acres. 

At present, the Group’s Manufacturas Zapalinamé provides shelter services to manufacturing firms housed in 17 of The Offshore Group’s standard industrial buildings.  Two new structures are currently under construction to meet the needs of newly acquired clients.

According to Offshore Group president, Luis Felipe Seldner, “The decision to increase the size of La Angostura was based upon the steadily growing demand for our shelter services in Saltillo , Coahuila.  Given the recent activity and trends that we have been experiencing, we are confident that this investment will prove to be strategic -ally sound”.

 


Maquilas Tetakawi Completes Annual Client Survey

As a part of its ISO 9001:20000 certification, The Offshore Group’s entities conduct yearly surveys in order to ensure the continuous improvement of its shelter services.  Some of the actions  taken as a result of the survey performed by the Group’s Sonora member, Maquilas Tetakawi, S.A. de C.V. include:

  • Human Resources – Human resources personnel will analyze clients’ turnover and absenteeism on an individual company basis and will meet with client company staff to discuss, devise and implement appropriate strategies.

  • Recruitment and Selection of Personnel – Offshore Group staff will revise and update files of all candidates for hire, in order to give client companies better information regarding experience and work history .

  • Logistics Services – The Offshore Group has acquired a newer, larger facility in Tucson that will enable it to expedite shipments.

  • Procurement Services – IT staff will modify Procurement Service's computer system to ensure uniformity in MRO vendor pricing to Offshore Group client companies.

  • Environmental Services – The department has assigned individual staff members to specific client plants, in order that the department employees have detailed knowledge of individual client’s processes and environmental needs.  This will result in a more personalized service.

  • Engineering and Maintenance – A street sweeper has been purchased for the purpose of maintaining the cleanliness of the industrial park and its environs.

  • Accounting and Payroll – Staff provided  each Offshore Group client company with estimates of value-added tax payments to be recovered from the Mexican Federal Government, as well as provided an estimated date of refund.

  • Medical Services – The Offshore Group has acquired a third ambulance, in order to equip each of its industrial parks.
