MICO Inc. to  Establish Mexican Operations

North Mankato, Minnessota -based   MICO Inc. will begin the manufacture of hydraulic components, controls and brake systems in Mexico in the first quarter of 2007.

The company has signed a multi-year agreement with The Offshore Group for the rental of 39,500 square feet of industrial space, as well as for outsourced manufacturing support, or “shelter,” services at the Bella Vista Industrial Park in Empalme, Sonora.  MICO expects to employ up to 90 workers at the end of the second phase of the project.

According to the company’s Director of Operations, Glenn Gabriel, “the Offshore Group provided MICO with the best alternative to start-up operations in Mexico as a low cost country.  Futher, the 'shelter' services accelerate our learning curve to the point where we will be manufacturing at least a year earlier than if we were to 'go it alone.'“

Neapco LLC Chooses Saltillo


Pottstown, Pennsylvania-based  Neapco LLC will begin the manufacture of Double Cardan assemblies  for drive shafts in Mexico in the first quarter of 2007.

The company has contracted with The Offshore Group for approximately 35,000 square feet of industrial space, as well as for outsourced manufacturing support, or “shelter,” services at the La Angostura Industrial Park in Saltillo, Coahuila.  At the project’s maturity, Neapco expects to double its manufacturing space and will employ approximately 100 workers.

According to the company’s EVP and General Manager. “ We decided on the Saltillo location because of the skilled work force and support services  that are abundant in the area. We also chose the Offshore Group because of their demonstrated  success of enabling companies like ours to focus on their core manufacuring business“


Neapco LLC also has facilities in Beatrice, Nebraska and Ontario, California. Its 525 employees provide customers with innovative drivetrain solutions through world-class product development, state of the art manufacturing and machining methods.  The company supports both global OEM and aftermarket manufacturers.

Jyco Expands TPV Seal Production into Mexico


Dexter , Michigan Jyco Sealing Technologies has announced plans to establish a TPV manufacturing facility in Sonora , Mexico . The Jyco Mexico operation will supply thermoplastic vulcanizate sealing systems to automotive OEM assembly plants in Mexico and South America .

Jyco has contracted with The Offshore Group for 18,000 square feet of industrial space at the Roca Fuerte Industrial Park in Guaymas , Sonora , Mexico .  The large industrial complex includes production facilities for a number of other North America-based Tier One suppliers. Jyco  expects to employ approximately forty workers once production is up to speed.

Jyco is dedicated to the design, engineering and production of TPV sealing technologies.   In 2004, the Michigan-based company established Jyco Asia in Japan . Jyco Europe was launched in Belgium in 2005.

Bill Golden Joins International Logistic Solutions

Maquiladora industry veteran, Bill Golden, has joined ILS as the company’s Chief Operations Officer.  The move to make the  hire was driven by an expanded demand for the company’s third-party logistic (3PL) services.  ILS has operations in Tucson, as well as in Guaymas, Empalme,  and Hermosillo, Sonora.  Additionally, the company will soon be open for business in Mission, Texas and Saltillo, Coahuila.


According to ILS' general manager, Juan Carlos Seldner, "Bill's addition to our team will mean positive things for both our organization and our customers.  He is joining us to assist with the development of business strategies that will improve business processes, thereby bringing providers, shippers, consumers and goods closer together".

In his previouse position, Bill Golden served as the president of Intec Mexico.  Prior to his tenure at INTEC, Bill was President of Leoni Wiring Systems, Inc. in North America. Additionally, he has managed in either a CEO role, or other high executive position, with 3 other automotive suppliers.
