ProMexico Northeast Regional Director
Edmundo Gonzalez is the Northeast Regional Director of ProMéxico; the Mexican government agency for trade and investment promotion. He has been in this position since 2010, coordinating ProMéxico efforts and strategies to boost exports and investment attraction in the region. Previously, from 2002 to 2009, he served as Investment & Trade Commissioner of Mexico in New York City, where he was responsible of providing assistance to US companies looking to establish operations in Mexico, as well as developing export opportunities for Mexican companies in there.
Prior to this position, Mr. Gonzalez worked for Bancomext, Mexico’s Export Development Bank, in investment banking and international finance for more than 15 years mainly responsible of export and project finance transactions. Mr. Gonzalez is an Industrial Engineering from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and studied an M.B.A. at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). In his long carrier in international business development, as well as in banking and finance, has provided assistance and advisory to a large number of companies pursuing and developing international projects.
